A Virtual Assistant or VA, is a small business owner who is contracted to provide professional and quality administration support to other business owners and leaders, from a different location. Think Personal or Executive Assistant, but without the tea breaks, days off or training needed!

About Executive Virtual Associate

Bendigo based, Executive Virtual Associate was launched by Sam Spence in October 2012, and is the first Virtual Assistant Business to be recognised with the Australian Virtual Business Network (AVBN) as a Registered Australian Virtual Business (RAVB).

Operating with Integrity and Trust is important to us, and we are proud to be the only Australian Virtual Business to hold the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) EthicsCheck Certification.

Executive Virtual Associate has pledged to lessen our impact on the environment, and has partnered with Carbon Neutral to deliver on our commitment. We are proudly a Green Supporter, having contributed to plant 265 trees to offset our carbon emissions. We also pledge to plant a tree for each Client each year as part of our Environmental Policy. In 2013 and 2014, Executive Virtual Associate was nominated in the Powercor Australia Bendigo Business Excellence Awards. We were announced as a finalist in the 2014 AusMumpreneur Awards Customer Service category, a Bronze winner in the 2014 Stevie Awards for Women in Business for the Start Up of the Year, and Bronze winner in the 2015 Stevie Awards for Women in Business for Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2016,  we were nominated in the Telstra Business Woman's Awards, and announced as a shortlisted business in the Bendigo Advertiser Bendigo Business Excellence Awards.

About Sam Spence

Sam Spence - Your VA

Before launching Executive Virtual Associate, Sam had an extensive 22 year career in the finance industry. With roles during this period varying from frontline customer service, project support, managing a team to supporting Regional Management and their teams, quality customer service has always been a priority.

Sam understands the importance of customer loyalty and enjoys exceeding client expectations.

Since 2010, Sam has provided administration remote support Virtual Assistance. While working in a different location to her clients, Sam maintains a high work ethic and is passionate about providing superior administration support.

Sam successfully achieved a Diploma in Business Administration, adding to her current knowledge, having already completed a Diploma in Social Media Marketing, and Certificate I in Virtual Business Administration.

2016 has seen Sam contribute to the handbook for Entrepreneurs - Every Entrepreneurs Guide: Running Your Own Business. A guide packed full of valuable insights and advice that tackle some of the most common (and often not so common) problems associated with running your own show, whether you're working alone from home or running a business with employees.

Sam is a wife and mum, who enjoys being active in her local Bendigo Community. She shares her knowledge by supporting and managing social media communications for her local Junortoun community, as well as creating and taking on the role of editor for a neighbouring community newsletter and other pro-bono activities. She is also a member of several associations and networking groups, including Australian Virtual Assistants Association and Bendigo Business Council.
